Popular neighborhoods

Centar

Centar (Macedonian: Центар; English: Centre) is a Bitola neighborhood that houses most of the restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, cinemas, cultural center and theater. Here is the famous Širok Sokak street which is considered to be the centre of Bitola and it is filled with an endless amount of neo-classical buildings that contain stores, cafés and restaurants.

Nova Bitola

Nova Bitola (Macedonian: Нова Битола; English: New Bitola) is considered the part of the city over and above the technical school and the Supermarket "Vero". This part of town was built 80 years ago and is one of the most recent settlements in Bitola. In the neighborhood are mostly buildings, but there are many stores and the primary school " Kliment Ohridski ".

Bair

Bair (Macedonian: Баир or Бајро) is one of the largest settlements in Bitola. It stretches from the street "Devejani" and West Street "Ilinden" south to school "Todor Angelevski" in the east. This neighborhood includes over 30 streets, there are two elementary schools "George Sugarev" and "Todor Angelevski." It is estimated that the population is most numerous of which 5500 are Macedonians and Roma (who live mostly in the streets "Kozjak" and "Karaorman").

Dovledzhik

Dovledzhik (Macedonian: Довлеџик) is a settlement in Bitola, located on the western entrance to the city and the Faculty of Education. The settlement includes the shut down Dovledzik pool, which is named after the settlement. Here is located the church Archangel Gabriel, at the output of the settlement.

Yeni Maale

Yeni Maale (Macedonian: Јени маале, also known as Yeni Maalo - Macedonian: Јени маало, Geni Maale - Macedonian: Гени маале) is the oldest settlement in Bitola, on the east side of town. The population in Yeni Maale neighborhood is known for their family nicknames: Pizdevci, Totolovci, Chavkarovci, Pajovci, Przovci, Pajkarovci, Pustovci, Chekutkovci, Pacharovci, Kuzevci, Derebanovci, Devetlepeshki, Paramanci, Devettanterii, Polezhinovci, Mechevci and many others. The word yeni (Turkish: yeni) means new, and the word maale (Turkish: mahaale) means street, or in this case several streets. Yeni Maale was established by the Turkish administration of the city to collect all the Christian families who moved into the city from elsewhere. The population in Yeni Maale is Macedonian.
